If you have played tank and driving games before, the control scheme of Tank In Action should be very intuitive for you. All you need to do is use the W, A, S, and D buttons to control your tank. I don't know about you BUT I find this to be better than the other usual control scheme that uses the up, down, left, and right arrow keys. As for shooting down those obstacles, you need to use your mouse: (1) aim by moving your mouse and (2) press the left click button to shoot. The goal in this game is as straightforward as it could get: drive your tank and destroy cars, hidden agents, soldiers, etc. in the process. You can choose to fight or avoid BIGGER machines.

Tank in Action Walkthrough
Tank In Action - that's the title of the game, obviously, although I'm not really sure why this game is called that. For one thing, I'm not really sure if it's a tank I'm driving. It looks more like something from a wonder land or a coloring book. Some of you may think of that negatively, BUT I prefer to look at it as a very nice, colorful, and happy tank (BUT I'm sure such tanks don't exist in real life). Moving on...
This game is a combination of your usual truck / driving game as well as a shooter game. Coming at you with 24 levels that are increasing in difficulty, this is one of those driving games that will keep you glued on your computer for the hours to come. And the levels are anything BUT ordinary. It simulates the REAL WORLD with gravitation, friction, and tension tossed into the game. The game does a good job on focusing on REAL WORLD physics. While not everything is that great, some of it is really clever. Some tracks even break because of tension!
You can have quite A LOT of fun with this colorful driving game even if the physics is good BUT not perfect. And come on, with a browser-based flash driving game, you really can't ask for more. One thing I don't like about it though is the music and sound effects. They are awful and quite awkward. For example: the noises are delayed when you fire your cannon away. However, the awkwardness could sometimes lead to funny moments. For example: as I was playing, I found a randomly placed man... a hanging man to be precise. Since he was dead (or so I thought), I figured why not shoot him for the 'LOLz'. Guess what, he wasn't dead! He even yelled at me after I shot his head off!
As for the controls, they are OK. Using the S and W keys to flip and bounce my tank all over the place is fun. This is NOT a top notch tank / driving game BUT it's NOT that bad either. I really like the creative obstacles scattered all over the levels. They encourage you to use some of the tank's mechanisms that shows off the game's physics. Another good thing is that the obstacles and mechanisms in the game won't distract you from the real objective of the game which is to finish the 24 levels that are increasing in difficulty.
This driving game sort of reminds me of Little Big Planet for PS3, except that this is based on the flash platform. It has A LOT of potential. One thing that I would suggest is adding a level editor. That would take the game to epic heights for sure!
Summing things up, here are the PROs and CONs of this game:
Pros: (1) It comes with 24 enjoyable levels. (2) It nicely uses gravity, friction, and tension... this isn't something that other driving games could brag of. (3) It's non-repetitive as far as challenges go. (4) The obstacles are creatively done and placed.
Cons: (1) The music and sound effects are not that great. (2) This game requires better presentation. (3) Very linear. (4) And lastly, there are some glitches that the developer would hopefully fix.
Still, this is a driving game to be recommended. If you are bored, if you want to perhaps drive a tank and shoot down some soldiers, secret agents, obstacles, etc., give Tank In Action a shot. You'll surely love it.
