Car and driving games - I'm sure some of you think that many of them are just boring and redundant. They present the same rules, same concept, and same premise over and over again. Some car and driving games require you to park your car at the designated parking area. Others require you to race and score as MUCH as you can in the process and get to the finish line. It's the same old thing, only with a different 'packaging'.

Now, don't think I hate car and driving games. They are fun nevertheless. It's just that there are people who want something that are much more exciting and action packed than driving, parking, or racing through a track. Perhaps you are sick and tired of being a law abiding citizen who knows every traffic rule in the book. If that sounds like you, then Freeway Fury is yours for the taking! This is one of those driving games that will keep your boring afternoons pumped up with pure doses of fun... driving you all the way to the edge of your seats as you make a bee line to the finish line.

As for the game's goal, it's not really different from other racing and driving games: you need to reach the finish line as fast as you can. HOWEVER, getting there is not as easy when compared to other racing and driving games. The name of this driving game says it all: you need to get to the finish line in a road where there are no rules, no laws, and where unleashing that speed-demon and traffic outlaw in you is not just allowed... it's NECESSARY to win the game!

YES, let that outlaw and speed demon on you out and unleash your fury as you climb your car's roof. While getting some fresh air (which is infinitely better than the Freon-powered air you get with your car's air conditioner) is nice, that' NOT really the point. So why go all the way to your car's roof? Simple! So you can jump to another car's roof and hijack it. Come on! Finishing the race in time is good... BUT finishing it in record time with a ride that's going to turn everyone's head 360 degrees is way better!

OK, if your kids are playing this with you, better remind them that no form of hijacking is good, that they are going to get spanked for it. They shouldn't do it for real. BUT in the world of Freeway Fury, that's OK. There are no law enforcement guys in uniform who would whack them for it.

Temporary BUT great speed boosts are always more than welcome in car and driving games like this. To gain nitro boosts, you need to jump on other cars. Not only will you get a HUGE speed boost... together with your fast fingers and reflexes, you can pull off an array of crazy, impossible, and just outright RECKLESS stunts. Pulling off stunts isn't just for the fun of it... it's also a good way to make sure you milk that level you are in for whatever points its worth. Let me remind you, however, that there are no brakes in this game. BUT why would you want one in the first place RIGHT?

One more reminder: being adventurous is good. BUT committing suicide is NOT... it's stupid no matter how you look at it. Don't even attempt jumping into an open space without a car to land on. That's just wrong. You will either get crushed by the impact or an incoming car runs over and flattens you. If getting squashed at the freeway is your idea of fun, go ahead and dig in... BUT perhaps you need a visit to the nut house?
