Extreme Trucks 2 Walkthrough
Extreme Trucks 2 is an easy to understand but difficult to master driving game that challenges the player to complete each level before time runs out and without destroying the truck. Each new level brings new challenges and obstacles you need to overcome increasing the level of difficulty of the game. This ensures that the game remains challenging throughout and avoids becoming stale or boring. While there may be driving games online with flashier, more exciting graphics, this game really doesn't need all that to be entertaining. With that said, the graphics are far from dull. They're at just the right level for a game like this. The real fun of this one is the challenge of getting through the levels not the way the game looks.
The greatest thing about Extreme Trucks 2 is that the controls are easy to use and understand, making it the perfect game for anyone of any experience level. There are no special buttons you need to hit to do special things. It's just about driving and keeping your truck under control. This is a driving game in the purest sense of the word. You need to be able to balance your truck and use the right amount of speed when you tackle an obstacle and finally, you need to pay attention to any signs you see along the track. The signs are there to help you but they can only help you if you don't ignore them. When there is a hoist, there will always be a sign immediately before the hoist warning you that one is ahead. Drive carefully. If you wind up stuck under the hoist without enough time to escape, your truck will be crushed and you'll have to start over either from the beginning of the level or from your most recent check point. If you wait too long to get on the hoist, you'll have to wait for it to come back down which will waste time. Use that sign to prepare and be ready for the hoist so you can get your timing right.
Although there is a time limit in Extreme Trucks 2, you really need to be careful not to rush through the levels. Some of the obstacles require you to approach with caution and a slower rate of speed. Hitting those obstacles with too much speed is a surefire way to lose control of your vehicle and crash. Alternatively, you'll need to hit other obstacles (steep hills are a great example of this one) with a high rate of speed or you won't be able to make it over them. As you play, you'll get a better idea of which obstacles are which. If you have any experience with this type of driving game, you should already have a basic idea of what you need to do. Newcomers will find it a bit more challenging though. If in doubt, go slow. It is much better to hit an obstacle too slow than it is to hit an obstacle too fast. Hitting an obstacle too fast is almost certainly going to cause you to crash. Hitting an obstacle too slow will only mean backtracking slightly, building up more speed and trying again. It will hurt your overall time, but it will save you damage to your truck.
At the top left corner of the game screen in Extreme Trucks 2, you'll see three pieces of information that are absolutely vital to how you perform in the game. The first is a number with a 'x' beside it. This number tells you how many trucks you have. If you run out of trucks, your game is over. Beside that is your truck icon. Your truck icon shows you how much damage your truck as taken. It starts off as one solid color. As your truck takes damage, some of that color will drain. If that icon empties of all color, your truck will be destroyed and you'll have to start either from the beginning of the level or the last checkpoint you reached. Finally, you have the time left in your level. This will count down as you progress, so make sure you keep an eye on it. Use all of these three factors to help strengthen your game plan. For example, if your truck is nearly destroyed, you really need to proceed carefully, however, if you're running out of time and you have a few trucks left, it might be a better idea to just try to race through as fast as you can, even if it means sacrificing one of those trucks.
Overall, Extreme Trucks 2 is an addictive and engrossing driving game that will keep you playing game after game. While newcomers to driving games may have trouble keeping their truck under control when they first begin playing experience can definitely change that. The great thing about it is that getting experience in this game is a lot of fun. All you have to do is play. While it might be hard for newcomers to get through even the beginning levels at first, if they stick with it, their skills will improve significantly. Be patient and enjoy the game for what it is. More experienced players, on the other hand, will appreciate the simplistic approach Extreme Trucks 2 takes to driving games. By focusing on the game itself and not flashy backgrounds and complicated upgrades, the makers have ensured the drawing point is the challenge the game offers which keeps it entertaining from start to finish. If you're a fan of truck games, driving games or racing games you need to give this one a shot.
