Drag Racer V3 is the third version of the Flash game, Drag Racer. This version of the driving game features improved graphics, arcade mode, and three difficulty levels in tuning mode.

Drag Racer V3 features two modes of gameplay: Arcade Mode and Tuner Mode. In Arcade Mode, you can buy any car of your choosing and race against opponents. This mode is great for learning about how to control your car in a race and the performances of different vehicles. Arcade Mode of this driving game is also good for casual gamers that just want to jump into a race and not have to worry about managing funds or tuning up cars.

The second gameplay mode in Drag Racer V3 is Tuner Mode. Tuner Mode has three difficulty levels: easy, medium, and hard. The lower difficulty levels give you more money to start with and are more forgiving during races. Higher difficulty levels start you out with less money to spend and require the use of more complex controls when shifting gears. If this is your first time playing this driving game, then I advise you to start on the easy difficulty level. You can save your progress in Tuning Mode by clicking the word "Save" in the upper-right corner of the screen.

The actual racing in Drag Racer V3 is literally straightforward. Hold the spacebar to accelerate. The arrow keys are used to shift gears. Alternatively, you may use your mouse to click and drag the gear shifter on the right side of the screen. In medium mode, you have to release the gas pedal to shift gears; in hard mode, you must also hold down the clutch (control key). Winning races depends on the qualities of your car more than your skill as a driver, however. The Honda Civic is a solid car to start with in this driving game. It is important to tune the gears of your car. Acceleration is useful for reaching top speeds quickly, while speed is good to maintain the lead in races.
