Sequel to Coaster Racer, and a significant improvement over the previous one. In Coaster Racer 2, the first change you will notice is that you can now have a bike instead of a car if you so choose. Bikes have a smaller hitbox than cars, and are generally the superior choice for multiple reasons.

The races in this driving game take place on a linear narrow track that may or may not have barriers on the side to prevent you from falling off. Coaster Racer 2 is far more forgiving in the falling aspect however, if you fall off, you'll be back on the track very quickly. In the previous game, falling off the track is an almost-guaranteed loss to put it into perspective.

Your car and bike can both be upgraded separately, and getting money this time around is much, much easier. A race will give you several thousand dollars plus whatever you pick up in cash along the track, meaning you can always upgrade at least two or three things at a time after each race.

Additional tracks in Coaster Racer 2 are unlocked by clearing the previous track with a certain level of performance, and each track has two challenges. One for bikes, and one for cars. In head to head challenges, you simply best another racer in a single lap. In the time trial mode, you clear the race in a specific timeframe. In Catch Up, clearly the easiest of the three challenge types, you simply have to overtake your opponent who has a good headstart before the end of the race.

Tips: When freewheeling in Coaster Racer 2, your nitro gauge increases far quicker, and you can stock up to three nitro boosts. As with the previous game, getting your speed maxed out is the most important thing, and this time you can play much more recklessly as the penalty for falling off the track has been greatly reduced. If you need more cash, it's a better investment of your time to do a race rather than a challenge, as each challenge is only worth $1000.
